Please join us on the first Friday of October at Art Space on Main as we host our annual Empty Bowls charity event which benefits the Wayfarer House, a shelter for battered women and children right here in Elkton MD.
It works like this- Each year, members of Art Space on Main donate their time, energy, and clay to make, trim and glaze over 500 bowls of varying sizes and color for purchase on the first Friday of October. The sale of any Empty Bowl goes straight toward our final donation to the Wayfayer house. Friends, family, returning guests and new-comers are invited to peruse our selection of hand-crafted pottery and pick a bowl for themselves.
And it doesn’t stop there!
Each year, Art Space on Main receives generous donations of soup and bread from local restaurants making this event a unique community endeavor. In addition to good food, original pottery, and convivial fellowship, there is a silent auction and live entertainment.
All of the Empty Bowls are food safe as well as oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe and any time you use your bowl take a moment to be grateful for all that you have, and consider all those in our community who face empty bowls and cupboards.
